Achievement Points Procedures
Recording results
- A sheet for the purpose of recording each athlete’s individual results on a weekly basis is to be created at the beginning of the season.
- Each athlete is individually responsible for presenting event tickets to the team manager for recording on the athlete’s sheet.
- Athletes’ results are recorded according results on event tickets. No result shall be recorded without the team manager seeing the event ticket.
Achievement Points
- Achievement points are awarded according to relative performance against other Wantirna competitors in the same age and gender group.
- Points are awarded in accordance with the following schedule

- Achievement points are tallied for each athlete each week.
- The athlete with the most achievement points at the end of the season will be awarded the Best Athlete award for his or her age and gender group.
Club Records
- Where an athlete breaks a club record an additional 2 points is added to the achievement points earned for that event. E.g. In the above table, the winner would earn 6 + 2 = 8 achievement points for that performance.
- Where an athlete breaks a club record while competing at Knox Open Day, Divisional, Regional and State Championships these will be recorded as Club Records.
- Performances attained at open days from other centres are not recorded as club records.
Eligibility
- To be eligible for a trophy, an athlete must compete in at least 50% of events prior to Christmas and 50% of events after Christmas.
Club Champion Trophy
- There will be both a Boys and a Girls Club Champion Trophy.
- Final determination of the Club Champion will be made by the committee.
- In deciding the Club Champion awards the committee will take into account such factors as:
i. achievement points tally
ii. club and centre records achieved
iii. sportsmanship
- the committee decision will be final
